Founded in 2015, Arsosala Washing Station is located in the district of Urga in Guji. This is a region of Ethiopia where most coffee is grown at very high altitudes by small backyard farmers who take advantage of the rich red soil of the highlands.
This unique terroir meant that since the early 200s, Guji has become its own recognised growing region, separating from Sidama. Approximately 1200 farmers deliver their coffee cherry to the station throughout the harvest season, where it is de-pulped and left to ferment overnight before being dried on raised beds.
The resulting coffee is a spectacular representation of how spectacular coffee from Ethiopia can be.
