Founded in 2016, Banko Gotiti station purchases coffee from around 783 farmers in the Gedado region. The farms average just two hectares or so and sit between 1,950 and 2,000 metres above sea level. During the harvest period, farmers deliver their cherries to the station to be hand sorted before pre-grading and de-pulping, they are then paid directly by the station.
Coffee grown in this part of Ethiopia is renowned for having intense floral and stone-fruit characteristics and the 20/21 harvest did not disappoint, yields were high and of exceptional quality.
