High in the hills of Herrera, Tolima, you’ll find Finca La Floresta—home to long-time coffee producer Diego Emerson. At 1,736 metres above sea level, Diego grows mostly Caturra and Castillo, but more recently he’s been exploring Pink Bourbon, driven by a quiet determination to keep improving quality.

With over 33 years of experience, coffee is more than just a job for Diego—it’s a family legacy. He runs the farm with his wife and two full-time team members, bringing in extra help during harvest to ensure each lot is carefully picked and processed.

Diego uses a washed process with 20–24 hours of fermentation, followed by slow drying on raised beds under both sun and shade. Drying takes between 15–20 days, depending on the weather, and it’s his favourite step—where attention to detail has the biggest impact on flavour and consistency.

Looking ahead, Diego is focused on building better infrastructure, improving productivity, and supporting his children’s education. He’s also excited to keep experimenting with new varieties and processing methods—starting with Pink Bourbon. We’ve purchased this Pink Bourbon lot from Diego for the first time, drawn to its classic Pink Bourbon profile, and we’re proud to share the results of his dedication with you.
