Chelchele is a small village in the district of Kochere, which is part of the Yirgacheffe region, a fertile and tropical area famous for its coffee production.
Most farmers are subsistence farmers and deliver their coffee cherry to the local washing station, which bears the same name. Coffee from this area is known for its sweetness and clarity, which is one of the reasons we purchase from this part of Ethiopia each year.
This year we were lucky enough to get our hands on a couple of bags of early-season coffee that was naturally processed, incredibly clean and sweet, it's a cracker.
