The Kainamui Coffee Factory was established in 1963 on the foothills of Mount Kenya and is comprised of 2000 members whose small farms only contain 200 trees on average. They bring their coffee cherries to the factory where it's fully washed for 36-48 hours before soaking for an additional 24 hours, this allows amino acids and proteins to develop, resulting in the delicious acidity and juicy fruitiness we love from Kenyan coffees. Lastly, the beans are laid out on raised beds for 5-10 days to dry.
The hard work of each farmer combined with the incredibly rich volcanic soil in this region produces a cup profile worth relishing, we hope you enjoy this delicious example of how good Kenyan coffee can be.
