Our first Kenyan of 2023 is new to Marvell Street, from the New Kiriti Farmers Cooperative Society, which comprises around 560 members. These farmers usually own between 1/8 and 1/4 of a hectare. They pick their coffee and deliver it the same day to the Kirimahiga Factory, where it is graded, separated, and sorted. The cherries are then processed using fresh water from the local Kananahu Stream before being dried under the full sun. Microlots from Kenya are traceable to either the factory level or individual farm level (when possible) and are selected based on cup score. They are often fewer than 100 bags.
This coffee stood out for us due to its elegant and balanced acidity, sugary, syrupy sweetness. It is juicy, sweet, and an absolute treat!
*** We roast coffee fresh each Monday, if stock has sold out we will ship the following roast day. Please refer to our shipping page for more information.
