Just 25km from the bustling regional centre of Yirgacheffe Town is the village of Kore, where subsistence farmers grow coffee in their backyards along with other crops. This region's coffees are known for their citrus and stone fruit quality, think juicy and sweet.
During harvest, farmers deliver their ripe coffee cherries to Boji washing station where it is de-pulped using local spring water. Whilst this isn't a certified organic coffee, most farmers in this region do not have access to fertilisers and pesticides. As a result, we call this 'traditionally produced' coffee.
These farmers' labours are immense, and the coffee they produce is exceptional.
