Guatemala is a land steeped in Mayan history, the region of Huehuetenango is littered with temples and reminders of an ancient civilisation. In the mountains surrounding the Mayan ruins of Zaculea, Los Ancestros coffee is produced by 13 growers on medium-sized farms of around 14.5 hectares.
They are a passionate and innovative bunch, always looking to improve their crop through experimentation and the testing of new varieties. The diversity of altitudes and microclimates in this magical pocket of western Guatemala allows them to produce a coffee that is sweet and fruity and will have you wanting cup after cup.
