Rafael comes from a long line of coffee farmers, his father and grandfather worked the same land Rafael grows his coffee on today. Their farm 'La Esperanza' has always been a family operation, Rafael describes it as less of a business and more a way of life.
His grandfather and father taught Rafael well as he produces exceptionally high quality coffee, not one to take the credit though Rafael says "varying altitudes, good soils and a favourable climate make La Esperanza special".
