Aricha washing station is located around 8 kilometres from the centre of Yirgacheffe, in the kebele of Edido. Coffee in this micro-region of Yirgacheffe is grown in red-brown clay soil by various smaller holder farmers who's plots are often less than 1/2 hectare of land. They deliver their coffee cherry to the washing station and are paid by weight at a market rate. The small holder lots are sorted and processed into bags, meaning traceability ends at the washing station.
This years harvest from Aricha washing station is a wonderful example of how delicious coffee from this part of the world can be, we hope you enjoy.
