Bellanir and his wife Drezner's 30-hectare farm El Coral sits high in the secluded mountains of Paez, Cauca, one of Colombia's original specialty coffee growing regions. In 2002, with guidance from their parents, they allocated a small 2.5-hectare plot of the farm to grow coffee. They took a big leap in 2017 when they planted their first Pink Bourbon trees, a variety known for quality sweetness and acidity. The higher prices fetched for their specialty coffee have empowered them to employ people from their community, Bellanir says this brings them great joy and motivates them to keep improving.
Bellanir and his wife's Pink Bourbon is a coffee to savour and an example of tireless work reaping a rich reward!
