Perched high up in the lush green mountains of Cauca, central Colombia, lies Lorena Quintero's modest coffee farm 'El Soccorro', where neat rows of coffee trees are shaded from the bright sun by avocado, carbonero and guano trees. Lorena has called this high altitude oasis home for the last nine years, using the knowledge passed down to her by her parents to produce specialty coffee. Other than employing cherry pickers during harvest, Lorena handles every other duty and labour on the farm, this level of control allows her to experiment, learn and improve with each harvest.
Lorena is an inspiration for other female producers in Colombia, and her incredible hard work is showcased here with an amazingly delicious Gesha, what a treat!
