Los Trapiches comes from a region of Huila rich in colonial heritage, named after the numerous cane sugar mills that thrived in the area in the 1800s, a remnant of the area's colonial past, and which still dot the landscape as a popular way for farmers to diversify their income. The brand consists of 20 small-scale farmers who farm the picturesque hills surrounding the town of Paicol. We've been so impressed by this producer group this year that this is the second lot we have purchased from them. A blend of Castillo, Colombia and Caturra varieties, it has a vibrant and juicy citrus acidity and a moreish, chocolatey mouthfeel, making it a bloody delicious espresso. Los Trapiches, you've done it again!
