Luis Edier Reinoso grew up on a coffee farm, helping his father long before he had one of his own. About 30 years ago, he decided to carry that on for himself and start growing coffee under his own name. Today he runs Finca Vista Hermosa in Rioblanco, Tolima, with his wife Yenni and their three children, all of them part of the day-to-day.
He got into specialty coffee because he wanted his coffee's quality, and his family's work, properly recognised. It wasn't a fast process. He learned early that quality starts with commitment, and that every step along the way needs the same amount of care.
Luis Edier was one of the first producers to work with Caravela, and we've been buying his coffee through them since 2017. In that time he's earned better prices and, harvest after harvest, the recognition he was chasing in the first place.
This lot is a washed Geisha off Vista Hermosa's slopes, with rosewater, mandarin, and honey running through the cup.
