High in the mountains of San Agustín, Huila, Finca Las Juntas looks out over the Magdalena River. This is where Yamile Muñoz has returned to continue her family’s work in coffee.

The farm first belonged to Yamile’s grandfather, before gradually passing into her father’s hands. She grew up there, but later left for Bogotá in search of better opportunities. Seven years ago, she came home, drawn back by her roots and by the chance to raise her child in the place that shaped her.

Since returning, Yamile has worked alongside her mother to build something stronger from the farm. What began as commercial coffee has shifted into specialty, bringing better income, better quality, and a clearer path forward for the family.

That change has taken patience and hard work. Yamile has invested in new varieties and improved infrastructure, including a new drying station, with plans for more to come. Through it all, the focus has stayed the same: keep improving, keep investing in the farm, and help put both their coffee and San Agustín in front of more people.

For Yamile, this coffee carries the effort of the women behind it, and the pull of a place she chose to come back to.
