Santa Isabel is a farm by run the Valdés family and has been for nearly 150 years over 5 generations. The current owner is Luis Valdés Sr and his son known as "Wicho" who oversees the operations. The farm is an expansive 300 hectares, 2/3 of which is dedicated to growning coffee. The remaining land is natural forest that's filled with other crops and plant life to protect natural water resources and harness an environment that wildlife can thrive in.
Over the course of harvest the farm can see up to 500 pickers, 40 of which are permanent staff. Santa Isabel has a reputation for extremely selective picking standards however, the fact that pickers can harvest up to 75kg of coffee a day creates security for the workers and sees them return to harvest year after year.
